Healthy Teeth Start With A Straw
Hmmm..... this week tip sounds a little bit different, isn't it? Yup,
you are absolutely correct! I've seen one article few days ago and it
surprised me. I found it very interesting, so I decided to share it
with
you.
Do you know that carbonated beverages like diet colas and citrus-based
drinks are a dentist's best friends? Yes, this is because they almost
ensure costly visits to this health pro! The reason is because these
drinks contain phosphoric acid and/or citric acid which gradually can
wear away the protective enamel on a person's teeth.
But, don't worry! There is a way you can enjoy this drinks and better
still have a healthy smile - sip it through a straw! Do it by placing a
straw near the back of your mouth - thus keeping those damaging acids
away from the teeth as you drink.
One extra tip: brushing your teeth immediately after enjoying a soft
drinks is a NO, NO. Yup, you heard me right. Brushing teeth immediately
after consuming soft drinks can cause even more damage to acid-weakened
tooth enamel. Instead, the best way is to rinse your mouth with water
after drinking a cola or similar beverage.
